* "Loading up the lasers" refers to charging the ships laser cannons with power prior to a possible conflict, so they can be fired immediately during battle. It is futuristic slang: Vincent surely doesn't feel the need to "load the lasers" while still lightyears away from Earth. Instead, it is indicative of his mindset: he now classifies his former human superiors as "the enemy", and is prepared to wage war on them.
